Supported Barcodes
Ensuring a high recognition rate using barcodes
BarcodeOCR supports 1-dimensional and 2-dimensional Barcodes. The main difference between these types is the physical space needed to encrypt the information. 2D-Barcodes can contain very much information, encoded into a small area.
In the following image, the same text is encoded into a Code 128 barcode as well as a QR-Code, they differ within the size needed:
In contrast to text recognition or intelligent character recognition, barcodes are much better to read and recognize by machines. This way, a very high recognition rate, even above 99%, is possible.
